In 1996, Mr Johnson returned to the Stratford (Ont) Festival after an absence of several years, to play Edmund in KING LEAR and the lead role of Chance Wayne in SWEET BIRD OF YOUTH, for which he was nominated as Best Actor in a Drama by the Stage Door Awards.
